Hi there! I’m Ifrah, a robotics engineer turned designer.

I was born in Delhi, raised in Kashmir, lived in Kuala Lumpur and now currently based in Tampere, Finland.

I was introduced to the world of design while working as a Design Fellow responsible for developing frugal solutions to local community problems. My designs were shaped by insights developed from user interviews and other forms of user research. As I progressed in this role, my curiosity about human-product interactions and the art of designing user experiences started growing. Motivated by this curiosity, I decided to enroll in Google's UX Design Professional Certificate program, which proved to be an exceptional journey. The program not only equipped me with the necessary skills and knowledge but also instilled in me the confidence to undertake freelance projects and tackle various design challenges.

In 2022, I launched a start-up in my hometown, named The Six Hats Academy. This academy is dedicated to providing after-school activities with specific emphasis on coding and design. Leveraging my expertise in robotics and knowledge in design, I have curated various workshops and activities specifically tailored for school children. Engaging with kids through these design-focused endeavors has been an immensely rewarding and enriching experience.

I decided to shift my career after realizing that my true passion lies in determining how a product/service/design should engage with users, rather than focusing on its manufacturing process. Even during my masters thesis, I discovered that the most rewarding aspect was developing the user experience for a rehabilitation robot!

In my spare time, I enjoy reading books, taking strolls out in nature, and sketching the world around me.
